Choose what to print
Select a set or format, or paste a decklist. The sheet lists mechanics found on those cards. Related variants, such as Islandwalk and Swampwalk, share one entry.
Only if ever unexplained keeps a mechanic if at least one card in your selection uses it without explaining it. Card counts count distinct cards in that selection.
What the terms mean
- Keyword ability
- A named ability with defined rules, such as Flying.
- Keyword action
- An instruction with defined rules, such as Scry.
- Ability word
- A label grouping similar abilities, such as Landfall. The card supplies the effect.
- Other mechanics
- Tokens, counters and game states, such as Treasure and day/night.
Definitions use curated wording and reusable templates drawn from card text and official rules. Previously accepted definitions are reused when their source rules are unchanged. A mechanic marked pending needs review and is left off the printed sheet. Suggest a correction on Help improve.
Sources and updates
Current card text, set information and format legality come from Scryfall. The Magic Comprehensive Rules supply the full rules for mechanics.
Data refreshes daily. Preview sets may be incomplete. New mechanics are included according to a processing algorithm. Those the algorithm cannot handle may appear on the Help improve page to be defined manually. Check the sheet's update date and coverage notices before printing.
The sheet can miss mechanics and omits detailed rulings. For a rules question, check the card's current text and official rules.
